Now it's yellow. She has painted her bedroom. Has painted is the present perfect simple. FORM = She has (to have) + painted (V3) Here, the important thing is that something has been finished. Has painted is a completed action. We are interested in the result of the activity ( the painted bedroom ), not the activity itself. My hands are very dirty.
We have already learned that the simple present tense is used to talk about routines. The present perfect tense is used to talk about events that have just completed. Study the following sentences. He goes to office every day. (Routine) He has just gone to office. (Just completed) We paint the walls every year. (Routine)
4: A finished action with a result in the present (focus on result). We often use the present perfect to talk about something that happened in the recent past, but that is still true or important now. Sometimes we can use the past simple here, especially in US English. I've lost my keys (so I can't get into my house).
The past perfect is very similar to the present perfect because the event also started in the past. However, the difference between the events is that the past perfect event also ended in the past. This can be used with a specified time. For example, “I had studied in China last year”. This also implies the event happened a long time ago.
Past perfect continuous. We use the past perfect continuous to talk about actions that continued for a period of time before another action or situation in the past. We use it to focus on the duration of the action. The action may or may not have continued up to the moment we are talking about it. I’d been living in Italy for three years when
Example. To express actions that are happening now. He is playing tennis now. To express actions that are planned. He is watching movie with his friend next Sunday. For changing situations. The climate is getting hotter each year. To express time at the moment of speaking. We are performing our duty at the moment.
Practise making the English present continuous (positive and negative forms) here. Remember, it's really important to know the verb forms inside out, so you can make the tenses without thinking. If you know how to make the tenses really well, you can concentrate only on choosing when to use them, which is more difficult.
